Introducing Shanling M3 Plus Master

Shanling M3 Plus was released not even a year ago, representing a big leap in the capabilities of our M3 platform and quickly establishing its place on the portable Hi-Fi market.

But in the current times of the shifting world economy, where the costs of memory components are pushed to new extremes due to the AI chase, we had to make some changes to the M3 Plus.

Which leads us to the new Shanling M3 Plus Master Edition, releasing at the end of March 2026.

To start with the negative news, the price has to go up and it’s due to the increased costs of the memories.
While the original M3 Plus retailed at 469 USD, the Master edition will come at 559 USD / 599 Euro.

But this change in the M3 Plus production also brought up an opportunity for a few improvements, making the Master edition more than just a market price increase.

Firstly, the internal RAM was upgraded to a new 6GB module, ensuring better system performance under increased app load. This memory upgrade had no impact on the final price of the unit, while providing smoother performance to the user.

We also took the time to dive deeper into the audio circuit of M3 Plus, with a few optimizations to its power supply and adjustments of the used capacitors. As such, the M3 Plus Master comes with a bit different tuning than the original model, sounding slightly more lush and smoother, offering a more open soundstage and a little increase in overall clarity.

M3 Plus Master units can be easily recognized by the M logo engraved into the volume wheel and a new boot-up animation. The rest of the device, including available colours, stays the same as the original M3 Plus.
